A Media Industry company is looking for a Technical Director

The Technical Director will be responsible for defining and implementing a technical equipment and internal or external software strategy for content production and 24 hour broadcasting of channels, and with the best signal quality, in accordance with the company procedures and policies.

Tasks:

  • Monitoring technology and monitoring developments of business practices in the sector.
  • Collect information about the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Formulate the company’s equipment strategy in partnership with the company’s executive committee and technical division.
  • Define applicable objectives for the technical division in connection with the company’s strategy
  • Draft the technical specifications and supervise technical tenders (hardware and software) in accordance with the company’s policies.
  • Define control procedures, and associated resources, risk management procedures and business continuity.
  • Develop and maintain long-term quality relationships with external providers and customer’s technical divisions.
  • Conduct analysis required to identify successful strategies and possible technical, risk management and quality developments.
  • Implement the means and actions required to achieve the approved changes.
  • Provide company management with necessary information and reports in the required form and within the required time frames.
  • Ensure 24-hour quality broadcasting of programming.
  • Manage the Technical Division’s operating budget.
  • Manage the team from a managerial point of view with the support of the HR department: recruitment, salary increases, performance management, development, ect

Experience required for the position:

  • Experience with a broadcaster or a technical service provider in the same sector,
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in the industry,
  • International experience would be a plus
  • Experience with « live » sports broadcasts and / or event would be a plus
  • Engineer’s Degree
  • Knowledge of all the company’s technologies and software,
  • Very good interpersonal skills and specialised knowledge of trading tools,
  • English: Bilingual.

Remuneration: 140-145 K euros per year

Location: Ile de France
